A new streaming service called SonyLiv launched in January 2013 by Sony Pictures Networks India. With over 40,000 hours of content, SonyLiv boasts a library of 700 film titles. In addition, users can watch TV series and sports, including the 2014 FIFA World Cup. It also offers live channels from NBA, Ligue 1 and Serie A. The site’s live sports coverage is unparalleled, with a wide selection of sporting events to choose from.
In June 2016, SonyLIV went under a major revamp and began streaming live television channels. Subscriptions are now able to stream award-winning TV shows and movies, including The Good Doctor, Seinfeld, Power, Mr. Mercedes, and more. In November 2018, the company announced a multi-year content deal with Lionsgate, which will allow it to stream more than 500 hours of premium original series and movies. The service also plans to add live television channels from other networks in 2019.
SonyLIV will offer live television channels from around the world as well as original programs and movies. The service will also feature more than 150 original shows and has more than 2000 hours of movies available. Its content includes movies and television shows from both mainstream and independent studios. It will launch in Canada on 15 October 2021 and the United States on Sling TV. Until then, subscribers will be able to watch live TV and movies from various channels in multiple languages.
