Advantages of online learning & types of it

Online learning is often known as distant education, which describes an emerging approach to learning at individuals’ premises through advanced information and communication technologies either synchronously or asynchronously. It is an instruction passed on via the Internet And where technologies are used to mediate the process of E-learning.

Learning through the Internet via devices that have Internet access and learning something through videos, blogs, posts, content, and e-books is a part of e-learning. Online learning makes education available through the Internet, and one can learn these free certificate courses anytime and anywhere. It is a mode of teaching that does not include in-person interaction, but communication occurs directly or indirectly via the Internet through different portals.

Direct online learning involves the student using technology to access learning while the tutor is separated from the student. Online learning is the delivery of learning content using online or mobile technology. However, in most online classes, students use a computer to connect to a course site on the Internet and take whatever courses they desire. The courses include synchronous, online courses, synchronous, online courses, and hybrid courses providing continuity in distributing materials, creating content, curating content, fostering collaboration, and assessing students. Through online learning, students can learn writing, speaking, SEO, digital marketing, designing, etc.

  • Asynchronous online courses- these kinds of courses do not run in real-time. The students are given assignments, content, and a time frame to complete the coursework and exams within that time limit. The interaction in such courses takes place usually through blogs. Hence, there is no class meeting time in such studies. However, they are flexible for students and professionals with time constraints or busy schedules. It includes courses such as coding, java, social media management, creative writing, and digital marketing course as well.
  • Synchronous online courses- This course allows the instructor and all enrolled students to communicate online simultaneously. It is similar to a webinar wherein participants interact via video call, text, or audio chat. Additionally, it currently enables students to take part in a course remotely. These courses provide free certifications to the students.
  • Hybrid courses- Hybrid courses are also known as blended courses, a learning environment that allows for in-person and online interaction. It can include several courses such as data science, coding, designing, etc. These courses meet in person several times during the semester and provide computer-based communication between those face-to-face sessions.
  • Creating content- While emailing documents and hosting discussions, forums are effective in maintaining, they can’t bring unity. A person can use several tech-savvy tools to create audio or video lectures, and students can use them for learning as per their availability.
  • Curating content- Several multimedia resources available online provide curating course materials for students. There are times when the network comes as a barrier in the online learning process through the Internet. In such cases, one might not have enough time to create content immediately. During such emergencies, a person can use the learning material already provided over the Internet to avoid confusion and anxiety in the students due to unwanted interruptions.

Online learning has helped every student achieve their dreams of pursuing education in whatever field they want, irrespective of the distance barrier.
